The Add+VantageMR professional development program is comprised of two courses.  It is unique because it has been designed to meet the specific needs of the classroom teacher.

Add+VantageMR is not a curriculum.  Instead, teachers use any curriculum package more effectively. Teachers begin by assessing students to identify instructional tasks most appropriate for the advancement of mathematics number concepts.

The Add+VantageMR program provides teachers with efficient and effective assessment tools to recognize their students’ current understandings of number concepts, and to support data-driven instruction. Forming collegial teams is encouraged during the course provide for ongoing study. Add+VantageMR teachers analyze and modify instructional tasks to meet the needs of a diverse range of students. This expertise allows teachers to customize any commercial mathematics package specifically for the individual children in their classroom. Add+VantageMR level of assessment and analysis is particularly useful in forming small group instruction within a math classroom.

The Learning Framework for Early Number sets Add+VantageMR programs a part from other assessment and professional development offerings. The Learning Framework in Number provides a sequence of learning for teachers to use as a foundation for differentiating instruction.
