  • Colorado Council on Economic Education: The Court, the Constitution, and Why We Prosper, 8:30-4:30, Colorado Springs – Can Supreme Court decisions affect the prosperity of the nation? Yes they can! To explore this connection, this class will take a look at the Constitution and the history of the Supreme Court’s jurisprudence. You will learn about the conditions under which an economy can thrive and you will leave the class with a better understanding of how governance can and does affect the prosperity of a society. You will also learn about the landmark cases of Kelo, Lockner, Wickard and more, as we try to figure out the economic consequences of what the Court thinks about police power, interstate commerce, the contract clause, and regulatory takings . . .
