The Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Education is pleased to present a series of regional workshops designed to support teachers in building readiness for implementing Colorado’s Academic Standards.

What Does Algebra (ECE-12) Look Like in the Colorado Academic Standards?

As a result of attending the workshop, participants will be able to answer these key questions:

  • What are the Instructional Shifts in Mathematics?
  • How do algebraic concepts build across grade levels?
  • How will the Standards for Mathematical Practice support students in their development of algebraic thinking?
  • What are examples of tasks that connect the Instructional Shifts with the Standards for Mathematical Practice and important algebraic understanding?
